Thank you for inviting me to your blog with my new Hot Ink Press release,

smallLove

The first thing people ask me concerning this release is about the title. They say ‘is that a typo, shouldn’t it be Love at First Sight?’ No, it’s not a typo :-). This book is a duo of red-hot contemporary romance stories, Pina Colada and Handy Hubby Hire. The stories feature a love at first sight thread, but initially it’s huge physical attraction to each other when the couples meet. They sigh with lust and then the romance develops.

Sounds like two very nice reads, can you tell us more?
I can do better, here’s the blurb for Handy Hubby Hire.
Tired of the maintenance jobs mounting up in her house, Sara hires a handyman. She never dreams someone like Griffen Fox will show up to fix the faucets and back yard gate. Sparks fly, but will they lose their heart to each other?

And for Pina Colada
When Emma takes a long weekend vacation in a warm beach resort, she meets the very handsome Matt Tyler. They spend an idyllic few days together. Will this only be a holiday romance?

Now, that made me really curious. All those like me click here to be zoomed off to the Adult content blog to read the steaming hot excerpts.

I wanted my male characters in the two stories to be very different personalities and yet still similarly alpha enough to go for the girl they wanted sexually right away.
Matt Tyler in Pina Colada is fun and almost dares the heroine, Emma, to engage in lust driven sex. He also gives her romantically exactly what she needs on her holiday break in the sun. Picture the white sandy beaches, the pale green almost transparent ocean, frangipani perfumed, warm night air and a drop-dead gorgeous man, who wants you …bad.
Griffen Fox in Handy Hubby Hire is visually a bad boy, muscled with a swirling, black tattoo and an old truck. He’s capable and calm, but underneath the professional exterior simmers … sex … lust and red-hot desire for the heroine, Sara, as soon as he sees her.
He tells her what he’s going to do. He gives her what she’s longing for and then …something happens to him … something unexpected.

As the writer I like Matt very much, but Griffen, well, he’s an absolute darling.
smallLove I designed and produced the book cover using Handy Hubby Hire as the inspiration. It took some time tracing the stock photography of the truck and had other people in it, which I edited out and then I found my couple. I love this premise, with the sexy guy holding his lover up against him and nuzzling her neck. I hope it gives a feel for the originality of the stories, their heroes and heroines that could be you and the sexually charged atmosphere of hot summer encounters.

As Lucy mentioned to read an excerpt of each story you’ll have to click here now to be transported to Lucy’s Adult Corner.

As readers you no doubt want to know a little bit more about Elodie. I found her prepared to lift the veil just a little and this is what she told me.

Book Blitz and Giveaway – The Golden Apple by Michelle Diener

Today I’m helping to celebrate the release of Michelle Diener’s second fairy tale retelling:
The Golden Apple
An Adult Fantasy Romance based loosely on the Princess on the Glass Hill

Kayla’s world has been turned upside-down…

Her father has made her the prize in a deadly, impossible tournament, and Kayla has retaliated in the only way she knows how; by choosing her champion beforehand. But taking control of the outcome changes the game completely, and when the real reason behind the strange test becomes apparent, Kayla realizes not just her life, but her entire†kingdom is at stake.

Rane’s honor is torn in two…

In order to save his brother, Rane will do whatever he has to–including deceive and betray a princess. He knew nothing about this tournament would be easy, but when it turns into a deeper, far more sinister game, Rane is forced to see it through to the end, or leave his brother at the mercy of their enemy.

Now their fates are entwined, and they must venture into the deep, dark forest together…

Kayla and Rane are bound to one another by an enchantment and Kayla’s actions. But the sorcerer forcing them to do his will may have miscalculated, because no-one comes out of the Great Forest unchanged. No-one.

This is how Michelle got inspiration for The Golden Apple

The Golden Apple is loosely based on the Norwegian fairy tale The Princess on the Glass Hill. The original tale is more about the hero than the heroine, and it is a very straightforward quest story, with the hero becoming more and more accomplished, until at last he succeeds against the odds. But there were a few things in this fairy tale that stood out for me and made me take notice. The first is the very unusual situation of the king holding a contest for his daughterís hand by putting her on top of a glass hill with a golden apple in her lap. Knights from all over are invited to race a horse up the smooth glass sides of the mountain and the one who can pluck the golden apple from the princess’s lap wins her hand and is heir to the kingdom. As usual in fairy tales, there is no explanation as to how the king came by a glass mountain, but I wondered where he got it, and that sparked the starting point of the story. It is really the inciting incident that starts the story off, rather than the focus of the story, as it was in the fairy tale.

Secondly, the crux of the tale, for me, is that the hero cannot win the princess’s hand without help from the princess herself. That part of the original tale is one or two lines long, but for me, it’s fascinating. The feminine power determining and choosing which masculine power will prevail. This really made me interested, because the princess doesn’t just sit there and take whoever it is manages to accomplish the (impossible) task set by her father, but actively chooses who it is she wants to win and helps them. I wanted to write a story about the consequences of her taking that power and using it and The Golden Apple was the result — far, far more heroine-centric than the original, and I really had fun with it.

Just some quotes from the book to make you want to read more perhaps?

I took a step closer to him, angling my head so that my lips were just beneath his. All he had to do was lower his lips two inches, and they’d be on mine. Suspense had me rising on tiptoe.

Please, Lucas. Kiss me.

The following had me smiling, it’s something I could have said myself. 🙂

Any requests?” he asked.

Take off your pants.”

He grinned at me over his shoulder. “I meant music.”

CamrynABOUT CAMRYN

Camryn is a beautiful mother of two, fighting to keep her life together in the face of tragedy. Camryn Hamilton is a survivor. Something traumatic happened to Camryn when she was young, something that made her pull away from everyone in her life, especially Holden. Cam’s life began to be defined as “before and after”. Before she was broken, she didn’t have a worry in the world and knew what it was like to feel true love. After she was broken, she put walls around her heart. She thought she found love again with Marcus, but the one thing she let herself realize was that although she always loved Marcus, he only got a small part of her heart. Cam has always felt that she was too damaged to love, but with age comes wisdom and she is fighting to find a way to love again.

When creating Camryn, I wanted someone strong, who didn’t use what happened to her as an excuse, but rather as something to motivate her to make her life even better. Camryn is someone who is always trying to do what is right, without compromising her integrity and family.

Camryn’s vices are she tends to overthink every aspect of her life instead of just living it. She is controlling, she likes wine a lot, and she can be known to down a large submarine sandwich from Jersey Mike’s in one sitting.

Camryn’s virtues are that her children come first, she loves whole-heartily, she is organized, she is kind and friendly, she is a loyal and true friend.

Instead of handing out the traditionally third person bio Julie decided to come over and tell us a little bit about herself. Take it away Julie. 🙂

I must’ve been 5 or 6 when I started writing “stories”. I would write them and hide them. Not wanting anyone to see my “secret” thoughts. I needed to write -even back then. Now I’m just not hiding them anymore. Is that a sign of maturity? Nah ….

Writer, photographer, insatiable wanderluster, edge-player, foodie, music addict, pop culture fanatic, animal lover, warrior for the rights of people and planet, and avid cusser (am a Native New Yorker, so very little offends me … and if I am offended, it must be pretty freaking bad .. like bad grammar!)

I am big believer in signs and if we keep ourselves open, there are guideposts all along the way. Stay humble. Be true. Be you.

Searching for Moore

ALT POV/Book 1, Chapter 3

Mia Silver stopped and looked at the campus map in her hand. If the university chapel was on her left, then she needed to keep going straight to find Brewster Hall and get to the next freshman orientation session. This next session had freshmen reuniting with their parents, and looking at her watch, Mia realized she had better get a move on it.
Buzzing with excitement, as she made her way across campus, Mia was enthralled at how foreign and different everything seemed, adding a heightened sense of adventure. From the Spanish mission-style architecture to the alluring, majestic mountain range that appeared like a painted backdrop to campus, her new bucolic southern California home was about as far from the frenzied energy of New York City streets as one could get. Mia keenly took it all in. Not a single detail escaped her as she rushed across campus.
The one thing in this brand new and foreign environment that struck her as being completely odd – and was totally unexpected – was the clothing of her fellow female classmates. They were all in dresses. Mia didn’t own a dress. She didn’t think any of the girls she went to high school with back in New York City owned dresses either. A dress was definitely not on her radar screen when she shopped for her college wardrobe and now she was literally the only co-ed in the freshman class not wearing a dress.
What was that about?, she wondered.
And then there were the dresses themselves – did these California girls know nothing of fashion? Sheesh. Pastel gingham maxi-dresses tied with matching satin sashes. Seriously? Did somebody raid a prop shop? It was like a tripped out version of The Wizard of Oz.
She saw her parents up ahead talking with some people and quickened her pace up the walkway to what she assumed was Brewster Hall. Her father was talking to a very attractive, tall couple. They were both blonde and had classic WASP good looks – definitely part of the country club set, Mia thought. The man was in khakis, a blue blazer, and a white Izod golf shirt, the woman wore a pale blue linen shift dress cut with classic lines. Her mom appeared to be totally engrossed in a conversation with a tall blonde guy. His back was to her, but she couldn’t help but notice his broad shoulders and long legs.
“There’s Mia,” her dad announced, as he spied her coming up the path toward them.
Everyone turned to her, including the guy talking with her mom. A small gasp escaped her throat and she hoped that she was far enough away that it was inaudible to them.
Even from a distance, she could tell that his translucent eyes were the color of the sky on a clear spring day, and they were smiling at her, although his lips were only curled into a half smile, as if he were more perplexed than happy.
Mia thought that she’d never seen a guy so perfect looking and so damn handsome – New York boys didn’t look like this – not even at the top prep schools. If she could create the perfect California boy – this was him, standing before her. Tall, blonde, blue-eyed, muscular, tan. Most eighteen year old guys were not sexy. This guy was sexy and she couldn’t tell if he totally knew it or was if he totally oblivious to it.
The smile on her face continued to grow as she neared him and she hated that she couldn’t control it. She wanted to appear cool and aloof and her damn smile seemed to have a mind of its own. As she approached, his smile began to mirror hers and match the smile that was already in his eyes.
Inexplicably, Mia felt like she was looking at her best friend, yet this beautiful boy was a complete stranger. Why did it feel like she knew him forever and like they could run wild together? She could almost see their laughter, somewhere out of reach, as if hanging on the edge of a distant dream. Mia knew in that instant, that this was what people meant when they talked about déjà vu. Was there something about him or was it because he was so gorgeous?, she wondered.
“Hey,” it was out of her mouth before she could even think. So much for acting cool and aloof, she self-chastised.
“Hey,” he was smiling back at her, head slightly cocked to the side as if he was still trying to figure something out.
Their eyes met, just for an instant, his narrowing, as if he were asking her a question. She wasn’t sure what the question was. But she was sure her answer was, “ok, let’s.” The response in his eyes was odd, like he wanted to say, “Yeah, let’s,” but Mia wasn’t sure he knew how and she just wanted to tell him, “trust me.”
“Honey, meet Mr. and Mrs. Moore and Schooner,” her dad offered.
Schooner? Maybe they weren’t country club people. Maybe they were yacht club people. Clearly, someone was a boat lover. Schooner … what an odd and interesting name, she thought. But it fit him – this tall blonde god. It was actually perfect for him. Of course he’d be named Schooner. He could actually pull off the name Schooner.
Hell, looking like that, he could pull off anything he wants, thought Mia, including my pants, shirt, and bra. In that instant, Mia also knew, that a guy like Schooner Moore would only ever see her as a buddy and that she was clearly imagining whatever it was she thought happened when their eyes first met.

But then, what was that …

But that’s not all! Yes, this is the party that keeps coming with more fun stuff. 🙂 There is a giveaway and you can win:
