Leanna Harrow

Leanna Glamour shot

Hi Leanne! Glad you could tear yourself away from all the hotties you show us on Facebook to come over to my place and answer a few questions.

Have a nice iced tea and some chocolate. There, are you comfortable? Watch it! That chair has one shorter leg, don’t lean back or you’ll end up on the floor. 🙂

You know what? The sun shines and it’s hot out there, let’s take this to the yard and do an outdoor interview. Okay?

I’m curious about the real Leanna. Would you want to tell us something about you before we move on to the interview?

I grew up on the Central Coast of California where the beaches were pristine and the sunsets, spectacular. I attended the school of hard knocks as traditional schools had too many rules and regulations for me. I raised four children that turned out to be happy, healthy, productive members of society. Each of my children grew up to possess my independent spirit and headstrong ways but are all, awesome people.

For all of my love, time and devotion, most of my children have repaid me with the ultimate gift, grandchildren. They are my favorite past time and at present, I have four of them. I am sure the future holds more of them for me 😉

I am a simple person that is not interested in material possessions. I believe a smile is the best accessory I can wear. I believe random acts of kindness can change the world and do them every chance I get. I also try to learn something new every day. My life’s dream is to start a charity that grants wishes for terminally ill adults.

My hobbies include cooking huge meals for my extended family, a good game of billiards every now and then, reading a good book as well as writing one, listening to music as many hours a day as possible and people watching, especially men!

I live somewhere in North Carolina and am VERY single!

Can you tell me how you celebrate finally getting that tricky chapter (or para) right?

I don’t celebrate until a book is finished and then I got out and shoot a few games of pool!

Pool! Great, I love the game. This sounds like you know how to party. But how do you work around those moments when the muse has gone and done a runner on you?

I don’t suffer from writers block…I suffer from “writers don’t want to” and I just wait it out until I’m in the mood again.

That’s actually very sensible and to be honest I don’t really believe in it either. 🙂

Now, let’s do a few of the yada yada questions before we move on to the fun. And by yada yada I do not mean boring, or in any other way stupid questions, but just the traditional ones. You know? The ones we secretly all want to know the answer to.

First, what is the title of the book you would like to talk about?

A Beautiful Liar-Book One of the Maggie West Series

FINAL A Beautiful Liar Cover_200x300_dpi72

Available at Amazon.com

Did you have difficulty coming up with the title?

Not at all! It came from an incident I had online with a “catfish” lol

If you would have to change the genre in order to be able to publish it, what would it be then? i.e. would you conform to the market?

Nope, not with the ability to self-publish which is what I did first and then was picked up by a publisher when they saw the announcement on LinkedIn of all places!

You must have hit a right person at the right time in the right place spot there. 🙂 Plus the fact they must have seen potential in the book. Great to hear these good fortune stories!

Right, with that out of the way and to confuse you we’ll take the alternative route now.

What don’t you like about writing.

EDITING!

Hahaha, don’t we all? But it has to be done, and then some more, and then when you think you’re done in comes the editor telling you this and that needs addressing.

What do you do marketing wise and what do you think generates the most attention to your books? A better question is “What don’t I do marketing wise?”

I do everything, I blog, post on every social media site there is, beg for reviews, do radio guest spots, throw lavish Facebook Launch Parties, you name it, I do it 😉

I know! You do get around. I always wonder if you’re not exhausted and  where you find the time.

Anyway, tell me, when you’re on a roll, the muse is in the house and happily guiding your pen, what would seriously drive her/him away?

Nothing…nothing at all.

What does your muse look like and does he/she ever play tricks on you?

He is a gorgeous, foreign man and he never leaves me…ever.

Do you ever speak to your characters and do you get along all the time?

We don’t have to speak and we ALWAYS get along!

Is there any food or beverage that is a constant factor in either your books or life?

Decaffeinated iced tea, I can’t live without it 😉

Would you be able to come up with a credible excuse why you haven’t written a whole day? Remember, I have to believe it!

Because I don’t want to…and that’s the simple truth.

You spoil sport! I was angling for a juicy lie. 🙂 But then again the truth works best always.

And finally why would you ever want to live life behind a keyboard slaving over a manuscript?

For the love of writing…again the simple truth.

Okay now that we have the mandatory questions out of the way, shoot your mouth off. Tell me whatever you want the blab about. But please no cat’s, dogs, or children. Make me laugh, or cry, or even envious. Tell me something none has ever heard before from you. hehehe, love those little dirty secrets, real or make believe. 🙂

I’m painfully shy in real life…what you see online is all a fantasy. I have serious body issues as I lost 100 pounds a few years ago and still see “her” in the mirror. I cannot take a compliment to save my life and trust no one. I’m working on those issues as I know it’s sad but you’d have to read the Maggie West series to understand as I am…Maggie West 😉

Thank you for having me Lucy…you are…a doll!

Leanna! Thank you for being here and you are a wonderful person! It is the inside which counts and your inside? Well there’s nothing wrong there. Trust me, I think you are a great person and a brave writer with a book which has to be read. (I still have to read it, but my list to read is miles long. I’ll get to it, promise.)

Now, where can we find Leanna online?

She has her own Website, a blog (with great author features and reviews), she’s on FacebookTwitter, and has her own page on Amazon.com

If you like what you just read, please leave a reply.
